About MPRC

Established in April 2011, MPRC is an agency of the Ministry of Economy tasked with developing Malaysia’s Oil and Gas Services and Equipment (OGSE) industry.

MPRC undertakes OGSE industry development mainly through the National OGSE Industry Blueprint 2021–2030 (OGSE Blueprint). In March 2025, MPRC launched the Mid-Term Review of the OGSE Blueprint, updating its strategic framework and initiatives to align with national economic development policies and energy transition goals.

MPRC also supports the country’s sustainability and energy transition agenda by facilitating OGSE companies towards cleaner growth opportunities in line with Malaysia’s Net-Zero by 2050 target, the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The agency further provides policy advisory, research and consulting services to support Government priorities across the oil, gas and energy landscape.
