Puan Mareena Mahpudz

Puan Mareena Mahpudz brings over 27 years of distinguished service in Malaysia’s public sector with a career spanning multiple ministries and agencies. She currently serves as the Deputy Secretary General (Energy) at the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), where she leads national efforts in energy transition. 

Her career began as a chemist at the Rubber Research Institute, followed by key administrative roles in the Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), and the Malaysia Space Agency (MYSA). She has held various senior positions including Under Secretary, Deputy Under Secretary, and Principal Assistant Secretary, with responsibilities in strategic planning, finance, human resources, and procurement. 

Puan Mareena has also been appointed as Pegawai Kehormat Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia (APM) for PETRA in 2025. Her expertise lies in policy formulation, strategic planning, finance, and public management, making her a key figure in Malaysia’s energy transformation journey.
